This is the oldest Turkish Ottoman stringed instrument called Classic Kemence. In the Turkish history it was called Iklig. Today it is very popular in the Blacksea region of Turkey. It looks like the Hungarian instument Hegedu. It is played by putting on the knee or holding vertically in the air. There are 3 strings and it is played with a silk thread bow. It has a very interesting sound. It is used in Turkish Art Classical Music and Turkish Folk music.
